Join Our Efforts

Take Out Plastic is a community-wide effort to help reduce single-use plastic in Hong Kong. We aim to raise awareness and encourage everyone to reduce, refuse and recycle all plastic products. Together, we can make a difference and protect our environment for future generations.

  • 11 Jun 2024, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
    Soho House Theatre, Level 25, 33 Des Voeux Rd W, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong
    Join us for an inspiring and eye-opening event to celebrate World Oceans Day. We will be screening the critically acclaimed documentary "A Plastic Ocean." This powerful film delves into the devastating impact of plastic pollution on our oceans and highlights the urgent need for change.

Reducing waste in Hong Kong

At Take Out Plastic we believe to effectively combat the “Plastic Bag Culture” Hong Kong needs to severely reduce its overall plastic consumption. We see Take Out Plastic as an instrument to raise public awareness of the harmful overuse of single-use plastic, which right now is extremely lacking.

Our clothing exchange program was established in 2021 by an amazing team of volunteers. Over the years, it has grown to become one of the largest clothing exchanges in Hong Kong. This program is an environmentally responsible way to refresh your wardrobe and reduce waste. We run monthly pop-up events across the city, visit our TOP Swop club to learn more.
